I just spoke to a friend about encouraging her to do a PhD and she sighed..."It's so difficult for mommies to do PhD...we have to do a PhD and proceed with our home keeping task as usual. This is so unlike of the men who have things done for them if they were to pursue their PhDs. Men get "personal assistants". Men get "typists" to have work done for them. Men even get "writers" to THINK for them. How true is this? Very much true, YES.
When a woman decides to further her studies, she doesn't leave her family behind. She has to rush home to prepare lunch or dinner or send the kids to school. She has to make sure the laundry is done, the clothes are all lined up, and be sure that the house is spotless. Then, she goes back to her work again continue where she has left, and tends to her family again. And she's too TIRED to think about herself. At times, she wishes to say, "hone, please give me a back rub, or hone...i need a foot massage...," but well whenever she utters such words Mr.hubby will say..."I need one myself!" Deep down, she's a little frustrated.
Super Mum equals Super Stress!

Anybody can write!
I have 2 book projects in mind for this year. Why do I want to write books? This image answers my 'burning quest' to start writing.
One thing for sure, you will never get RICH writing a book, but you will definitely enrich the minds of your readers! A book changes life, you may take years to write one, but one may take only an hour to read your writings...
Well, speaking of these two books, I am planning to compile one book of life experiences of women who have had some kind of hardships? challenges? while going into some transitions in their lives. I have approached a few people who have shown some interest in contributing their writings into this book that hopes to inspire others. The other thought will be academic in nature. I will share with you once this project is confirmed.

Eurycoma longifolia
It's only half past eleven, and I've started having the tiredness and sleepiness syndrom. Because I work from home...well my home is my office...the sight of my bed is irresistable. I've climbed up on bed for a while, but guilt overwhelmed me. Yikes! I should be working this minute!
I dragged my legs lazily, and off to get a cap of hubby's TA. I need my energy back....I have hundreds of things to complete before today ends....

Frustration is when...
1) you are glued on your study table for hours and hours
2) you sleep late, but get up early to complete your never-ending task, but even while you were sleeping, you were talking to yourself
3) you are given an office at the uni, but have to work from home
4) your ideas can't be freed from your head
5) your supervisor reminds you of the journal deadline
6)your life is coming down on you
7) you are rushing to meet deadlines
8) you really need a back massage but no one listens to you
9) you miss out on your social life
10) you just realized that you had 10 cups of coffee a day
11) you are stuck, and stuck, and stuck
I WANT MY LIFE BACK!

My office at TL 1.12

Kia Ora Each postgrad student registered under the School of Education is a given an office to share with another colleague. The first year I was here, I shared a big office with Patricia Rodie & Zuwati Hasim. In 2009, the level one of the TL block has been assigned as the postgrad area...and here all postgrads share a common printing space. I am sharing a room with Zuwati. Unlike Zu's area, my work station is too cluttered with files, papers and stuff I dont know what they are. Let's take a peek into my office....
