Super Mum on Duty

I just spoke to a friend about encouraging her to do a PhD and she sighed..."It's so difficult for mommies to do PhD...we have to do a PhD and proceed with our home keeping task as usual. This is so unlike of the men who have things done for them if they were to pursue their PhDs. Men get "personal assistants". Men get "typists" to have work done for them. Men even get "writers" to THINK for them. How true is this? Very much true, YES.

When a woman decides to further her studies, she doesn't leave her family behind. She has to rush home to prepare lunch or dinner or send the kids to school. She has to make sure the laundry is done, the clothes are all lined up, and be sure that the house is spotless. Then, she goes  back to her work again continue where she has left, and tends to her family again. And she's too TIRED to think about herself. At times, she wishes to say, "hone, please give me a back rub, or hone...i need a foot massage...," but well whenever she utters such words Mr.hubby will say..."I need one myself!" Deep down, she's a little frustrated.

Super Mum equals Super Stress!
